Whole black ginseng roots, steeped in honey — the most prized piece, kept whole. GeumHeuk, 30g × 10 packs (300g).
What it is
Black ginseng (heuksam) is Korean ginseng steamed and dried nine times until it turns dark. Here the whole root is kept intact and slowly infused with honey — the presentation traditionally reserved for the finest gift.
How it's enjoyed
Slice a little from the root and enjoy it as is, or steep it in hot water for a deep, honeyed cup. Each pack holds one whole root.
Gujeung-gupo · Nine Steamings
Nine rounds of steaming and drying darken the root and round its flavor from sharp to deep. Keeping it whole — rather than sliced or pressed — is the traditional mark of a premium gift.
A gift of respect
A whole honeyed root is the gift you bring to the people you most want to honor. Few gifts say as much without a word.
