What it is
Black ginseng (heuksam) begins as Korean ginseng from Geumsan. Through gujeung-gupo — nine rounds of steaming and drying — the root deepens in color and aroma until it turns nearly black. It is then concentrated into a thick, spoonable extract with nothing else added. Two smaller bottles make it easy to keep one open and one sealed, or to share one.
How it's enjoyed
The label suggests 1g three times a day, or 3g once a day, before meals. Stir it into warm water or tea, or take it straight from the spoon.
