Before many Korean soups and stews ever reach the table, there is a quiet first step: a handful of dried kelp and a few anchovies simmering in water, turning it into a clear, golden broth. Dried Kelp (Cut) 200g is the ingredient that sits at the heart of that ritual – a simple strip of kelp that gives depth, umami and gentle ocean aroma to everyday home cooking.
This cut kelp is made from 100% Korean-grown kelp (dashima), dried carefully to preserve its natural minerals and savory character. Kelp is a type of brown seaweed often called a "sea vegetable", naturally low in calories yet known for being a source of iodine and other minerals, as well as dietary fiber. In Korean kitchens, it is valued not only for nutrition but for its ability to turn plain water into a rich-tasting base for soups, stews and hotpots.
Our dried kelp comes from Korean coastal waters and is prepared in partnership with trusted producers who focus on clean, honest ingredients. The kelp is harvested, cleaned and dried in a way that keeps its thick, firm texture and deep flavor intact. Once cut into convenient pieces, it becomes easy to add to any pot when you want to build flavor from the very first step.
A few pieces of kelp are enough to create a base for dashi-style broth, Korean dashima yuksu, or a simple stock that makes noodle soups, hotpots, stews and even rice dishes taste more rounded and satisfying. When paired with dried anchovies, it creates one of the most essential broths in Korean home cooking.
Across East Asia, kelp and other seaweeds have been traditionally enjoyed as low-calorie, mineral-rich foods that bring a sense of balance to meals built around grains and vegetables. Modern nutrition research also highlights that seaweeds can be a source of iodine, vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber, and that certain seaweed fibers may act as prebiotics that support a healthy gut environment when eaten as part of a varied diet. This product is sold as a traditional food, not as a supplement or medicine.
Because kelp is naturally high in iodine, it is best enjoyed in normal culinary amounts rather than in excessive quantities. If you have a thyroid condition or are under medical care, consult your healthcare provider about your overall iodine intake.
